KARACHI: The affected motorcyclist in Defense Housing Authority Karachi have left the home with family and moved to elsewhere.
Local residents apprised that both siblings are employed, and at the time of the incident, the brother was coming home from his office with his sister. Since the incident, the affected family has left their apartment and moved elsewhere, reportedly due to fear caused by pressure. According to residents, the family has not contacted anyone so far.
It should be noted that in Khyaban-e-Ittehad, Defense, the accused Salman Farooqi allegedly held a self-made court and, reportedly, assaulted the young man in front of his sisters over a motorcycle collision.Footage of the incident went viral on social media, prompting immediate action by the police, who registered a case based on a citizen present at the scene. Raids were conducted at the accused’s office and home, resulting in the arrest of his driver and security guard. Subsequently, Salman Farooqi himself was also arrested.police stated that efforts are underway to contact the injured citizen.
According to D.I.G. Asad Raza, a case has been registered at the Ghari Thana based on the statement of eyewitness Muhammad Aslam, under sections related to threats, assault, and wrongful confinement.The case report states that the accused assaulted the motorcyclist using a weapon.D.I.G. South Asad Raza further said that no one is above the law and that the injured citizen will receive full justice.
Sindh Interior Minister Zia Lanjhar also sought details of the incident in Khyaban-e-Ittehad and ordered the SSP South to submit an immediate report.The Interior Minister emphasized that no one is authorized to take the law into their own hands, and that a full investigation should be conducted and reported. He added that the law applies equally to all citizens.
