Video surfaces showing banned JAAC members firing at security personnel

MUZAFFARABAD: A video allegedly depicting operatives of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) firing at security forces during recent unrest in Rawalakot has surfaced on social media, officials said.

According to authorities, the footage shows armed individuals carrying submachine guns and opening fire on law enforcement personnel deployed in the area.

Officials claimed the incident is further evidence of the group’s involvement in violent activities, alleging that its members have carried out attacks on security institutions while presenting themselves as advocates of public rights.

They also alleged that individuals linked to the outlawed organization were involved in previous attacks targeting the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalakot, a police armored vehicle, and an assistant sub-inspector (ASI).

Authorities said these incidents demonstrate what they described as the group’s increasingly militant tactics and reaffirmed their commitment to taking legal action against those involved.

The authenticity of the video and the identities of the individuals shown have not been independently verified.
