WEB DESK: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that the missile launched by Russia at Ukraine’s capital Kyiv yesterday was from North Korea and contained dozens of components manufactured by American companies.
In a statement on the social media platform X on Friday, President Zelensky said that, the missile, which killed civilians in Kyiv, had at least 116 parts sourced from foreign countries, and unfortunately, most of them were made by American companies.
According to President Zelensky, the attack on April 24 resulted in the deaths of 12 people in Kyiv and approximately 90 were injured, several of whom are in critical condition.
He noted that, the rescue operation, which has been ongoing since the missile attack, has now been completed, with more than 30 individuals still hospitalized, some in serious condition and others requiring amputations.
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that, a thorough investigation of the missile used in the attack is currently underway; however, initial evidence suggests that it was a ballistic missile from North Korea.
The Ukrainian President called on the international community to take immediate and strict measures to halt military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.
