PAF training aircraft crashed, two pilots Martyred

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft crashed near Mardan during a routine training mission on Monday, resulting in the deaths of two pilots, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The deceased were identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah of the Pakistan Air Force and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi of the Pakistan Navy, who lost their lives while performing their official duties.

The ISPR said that Air Headquarters has formed a board of inquiry to determine the cause of the crash.

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the services chiefs and all ranks of the Pakistan Armed Forces, expressed profound sorrow over the incident and extended condolences to the families of the deceased officers.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also mourned the loss, paying tribute to the pilots for their dedication and service to the nation. He said their sacrifice reflected exceptional courage, professionalism, and commitment to duty.

“The nation will always remember the bravery and devotion of these officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty,” the minister said.

He conveyed his sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and patience during this difficult time. Naqvi also wished a swift recovery for the three people injured in the crash.

The tragic incident has prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes, with many honoring the fallen pilots for their unwavering commitment to serving the country.
