Three-Year Water Reserves For Karachiites Stored As Hub Dam Filled With Water

Karachi: The dam reserved for provision of water to Karachi completely filled up after heavy rains in Sindh and Baluchistan.

Now the additional water in the dam is falling in the sea through the Hub river.

General Manager (GM) Amir Mughal of Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has apprised that the Hub dam has completely filled with water as per its capacity of 339 fit.

The fill up of water will reserve for three-year water supply for Karachi, he added.

On the other hand, the people residing on sides of the Hub river are being shifted to protected locations.

The security personnel have been deployed around the Hub dam and the river. While unconcerned people are not allowed to enter the Hub dam and the river.

Before this, the Hub dam had completely filled with water back in 2020 and 2007 after the heavy rains in Karachi.
