WEB DESK: The United States and Iran traded military strikes for a tenth consecutive night on Tuesday, underscoring the growing intensity of their confrontation and raising fears of a broader regional conflict. The escalating hostilities have also been accompanied by reports of Houthi actions targeting Saudi port access in the Red Sea.
Iran said it launched attacks against US radar and air defence facilities across the Gulf, warning that any further American military action would be met with even stronger retaliation. The country’s Revolutionary Guards also announced they had intercepted two oil tankers they described as “non-compliant” while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, signalling efforts to tighten control over one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.
In a separate statement carried by Iranian state media, the Revolutionary Guards claimed they had targeted infrastructure linked to the US technology company Amazon in Bahrain. Bahraini authorities had not confirmed the claim, and Reuters said it was unable to independently verify the reported strike.
Meanwhile, the US military said it had completed another wave of operations against Iranian targets. According to US Central Command, the strikes hit military command facilities, maritime assets, missile and drone launch sites, and air defence systems. The announcement was made through the command’s official account on the social media platform X.
