Steering Committee of Opposition Parties Meets Tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Controversial legislation in Parliament, Opposition decides to respond to letter from National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser. A meeting of the steering committee of the opposition parties has been convened tomorrow.

The opposition has decided to respond to the letter of National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser on the issue of controversial legislation in Parliament. According to sources, the opposition has prepared conditions for cooperation with the government in legislation in the parliament. The steering committee of the opposition parties has convened its meeting tomorrow for consultation.

Sources said that the opposition has demanded that all the recently issued ordinances of the President, including the NAB Amendment Ordinance, be tabled for discussion. Sources said that the opposition has demanded the government to bring back the 20 laws passed by the National Assembly in a hurry. A joint sitting of Parliament should be convened after consensus on the controversial Bills.

According to former Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, the letter has been received by the Speaker of the National Assembly. On the other hand, the ruling coalition parties MQM Pakistan and Pakistan Muslim League-Q have expressed concern over non-consultation with allies on important issues and government performance.
