Islamabad: Supreme Judicial Commission (SJC) today recommended elevation pf three high court justice to Supreme Court (SC) which included Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi.
The SJC meeting was held in the chair of Supreme Court Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal today at the Supreme Court Building in Islamabad.
The SJC in its today’s meeting, has recommended appointment of three high court justice to the Supreme Court (SC).
The SJC has approved Justice Athar Minallah unopposed elevation as a Supreme Court Judge.
The huddle also approved with the majority, appointments of Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi as the SC judges.
The meeting could not agreed on the name of Justice Shafi Siddique for his elevation to the SC.
The SJC has sent its recommendations to a parliamentary committee for its approval.
