Six Fitna al-Hindustan militants killed in Balochistan IBO: Sources

QUETTA: Security forces have killed six militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan during an intelligence-based operation in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, Balochistan, security sources said.

The operation was conducted under Operation Radd-ul-Fitan 3 as part of ongoing efforts to counter militant activities in the province.

According to security sources, the militants were successfully engaged with the help of quadcopters during the operation.

A substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants, the sources said.

A search and clearance operation is continuing in the area to locate any remaining militants and secure the surrounding region, they added.

Security forces remain committed to countering militancy and addressing the threat of terrorism under the government’s Vision for Stability, according to the sources.

Earlier operations

In separate operations earlier, security forces killed seven militants in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to security sources.

Two militants were killed during an operation in Nok Kacha, Chagai district. Security personnel also recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition and destroyed militant hideouts in the area.

Meanwhile, five militants affiliated with Fitna al-Khawarij were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Bara, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Security sources further said that 11 militants affiliated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed during operations on August 31 in connection with acts of sabotage.

The security forces reiterated their resolve to continue counterterrorism operations against militant groups in Balochistan and elsewhere in the country.
