Significant Drop in Global Oil Prices Following Trump’s Hint at Nuclear Deal with Iran

WEB DESK: Global oil prices have seen a notable decline following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s indication of a potential nuclear agreement with Iran.

Oil prices in the international market have dropped by more than 2%. Brent crude oil has fallen to $64 per barrel, while U.S. crude (WTI) has dropped to $62 per barrel.

Global gas prices have also seen a slight decrease, currently selling at $3.45 per MMBtu (Million British Thermal Units).

It is worth noting that during his visit to Qatar, President Trump stated that a nuclear deal with Iran was “very close.” He emphasized that serious negotiations were underway with Iran to ensure long-term peace.

On the other hand, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved an increase of Rs. 4.12 per liter in the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel to compensate for the losses of refineries, oil marketing companies, and dealers.
