RAWALPINDI: Seven terrorists were killed in separate intelligence-based operations conducted by security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, security sources said.
In Bara, Khyber district, security forces launched an intelligence-based operation after receiving information about the presence of Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists in the area.
During an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed and their hideouts were destroyed. Security forces also recovered a substantial quantity of explosives and ammunition from the slain militants.
In a separate operation in Balochistan, security forces engaged terrorists in the Nokcha area of Chagai under Operation Riddal Fitna, killing two militants, according to security sources.
The terrorists, identified as belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan, had allegedly attempted to flee after setting an empty water bowser on fire. They were also reportedly involved in arson and attacks at various points along the N-40 Highway.
Security forces reiterated their resolve to eliminate terrorism from the country under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative.
On August 31, 11 terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan and allegedly involved in similar sabotage activities were also killed in an operation.
