WASHINGTON: The United States President Donald Trump has conveyed hope that negotiations with Iran could resume with a second round scheduled for this Friday, with promising developments anticipated from the discussions.
In an Interview with a prominent U.S. publication, Trump revealed that he has directed the military to stay ready for any potential scenario. He also expressed confidence that the forthcoming talks with Iran are likely to produce constructive outcomes.
Notably, Trump had previously announced pause on any military action against Iran following appeals from Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, through a social media message, the President mentioned that Pakistani leadership requested him to hold off on attacking Iran until Iran’s side presents mutually agreed proposals.
Furthermore, Trump indicated that the ceasefire would be extended until the negotiations reach a conclusion, stressing that the extension hinges on Iran submitting its proposals. He reaffirmed that the current pause in hostilities will remain until a comprehensive diplomatic process is completed.
