A huddle of monetary policy committee of the SBP was held for setting the monetary policy for next two month.
It is decided in the meeting to retain the previous mark up of 15 percent in the monetary policy for next two month.
4/5 To contain external pressures and support the Rupee going forward, it is important to contain the current account deficit by delivering the budgeted fiscal consolidation, lowering energy imports through energy conservation measures, and keeping the IMF program on-track.

The SBP spokesman said that a strong monetary policy has been decided for strong economic consolidation. The central bank added that in this month of August the value of rupee increased by 10 percent.
