SBP receives $1bn second tranche from Saudi Arabia

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan has received $1 billion from the Ministry of Finance Saudi Arabia as part of a financial support package from the Kingdom.

According to officials, the amount was transferred overnight and represents the second tranche of a $3 billion deposit commitment extended by Saudi Arabia.

Earlier, the first installment of $2 billion was received on April 15, marking the initial phase of the agreed financial arrangement.

The inflows are expected to strengthen Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves and provide support to the country’s economic stability.
