ISLAMABAD: The federal capital Islamabad and Rawalpindi experienced powerful winds accompanied by heavy rain and hail, bringing relief from the heat.
According to reports, clouds poured across various parts of the country, and Islamabad and Rawalpindi saw thunderstorms along with torrential rain and hail. Dark clouds covered the sky, turning daytime into night.
The heavy rain and hailstorm cooled down the intense heat, making the weather pleasant. However, the storm caused chaos in traffic, with many feeders tripping. Tree branches and billboards fell, causing damage to electrical wires and poles. A spokesperson stated that efforts are underway to restore power to the affected feeders.
The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for Islamabad and surrounding areas, cautioning about the potential damages from the stormy winds and hail. There is a risk of damage to trees, vehicles, and electric poles due to the severe weather.
