Rabies victim tied to tree after family fails to get lifesaving treatment in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: A young boy who was reportedly bitten by a dog has been tied to a tree by his family in a village near Thari Mirwah, Khairpur district, after they were unable to obtain timely medical treatment, according to his relatives.

The family said Adeel Soomro was bitten by a dog around 10 days ago and was immediately taken to the Thari Mirwah Taluka Hospital. However, they alleged that the hospital did not have anti-rabies vaccine available, preventing doctors from starting treatment.

Adeel’s father, Abbas Ali Soomro, said the family returned home after losing hope of receiving treatment at the hospital. He added that his son’s condition has steadily worsened due to the delay and is now critical.

According to the family, they have tied the patient to a tree after his condition deteriorated and they were unable to afford expensive medical treatment.

The family, facing severe financial hardship, has appealed to the authorities to provide immediate medical assistance and ensure the availability of anti-rabies vaccine in an effort to save the patient’s life.
