Punjab plans to develop State-of-the-Art wheat silos with Rs20 billion investment

LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced a public-private partnership (PPP) project valued at Rs20 billion to set up advanced wheat silos throughout the province.

This initiative aims to reduce post-harvest wheat losses by approximately three million metric tonnes each year, while also providing farmers with secure storage options and the potential for higher market earnings.

Amjad Hafeez, Director General of Food Punjab, confirmed that the construction of modern wheat silos is already in progress under the PPP framework to ensure efficient implementation.
