KHANEWAL: The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment has opened an inquiry into former Khanewal deputy commissioner Maleeha Rasheed over alleged financial misconduct linked to the Akbar Bazaar beautification project.
The investigation was ordered by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif after allegations emerged that Rasheed colluded with a contractor who allegedly took an advance payment and left the project unfinished, causing major delays.
Counter Terrorism Department Director General Sohail Zafar Chattha had not confirmed whether Rasheed was in custody.
