LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has reaffirmed her government’s commitment to promoting environmental sustainability and making the province greener through innovative solutions.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the chief minister praised the efforts of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), researchers, bioscientists, and technical experts involved in developing Pakistan’s first EPA-certified “Liquid Tree.” The project, initially developed in Faisalabad, is now being introduced in Lahore.
Maryam Nawaz described the achievement as an important step toward addressing environmental challenges and improving air quality across urban areas. She noted that the bio-artificial tree had shown encouraging results during its trial phase.
The chief minister announced that following the successful pilot project, the initiative would be gradually expanded to other cities and districts of Punjab as part of the government’s broader environmental protection strategy.
She emphasized that the provincial administration remains focused on adopting modern and eco-friendly technologies to create a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations.
