PTI leader chaudhry Abdullah Tahir shot dead in Lahore

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Abdullah Tahir was killed in a shooting incident in Lahore on Wednesday while visiting a private clinic for a routine medical examination.

According to police and family members, the attack occurred in the city’s Gulberg area when two unidentified assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Tahir. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries.

A doctor, identified as Dr. Riaz Khan, was also injured in the incident after being struck by bullets during the attack. His condition has not been officially disclosed.

Tahir, a prominent political figure from Okara, contested the 2018 Punjab Assembly elections as a PTI candidate and remained active in local politics.

Police said forensic teams visited the crime scene to collect evidence, while investigators have launched a probe to determine the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible.

Officials confirmed that a case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the fatal shooting.
