ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday welcomed the newly announced Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran, expressing optimism that it would lead to a broader peace agreement and contribute to long-term stability in the region.
In a statement shared on his official X account, President Zardari said he hoped the understanding reached by both countries would serve as an important step toward achieving lasting and inclusive peace.
The president also highlighted Pakistan’s consistent support for diplomatic engagement, noting that the country had advocated dialogue and peaceful negotiations throughout the period of heightened tensions.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting diplomacy as the preferred path for resolving disputes and strengthening regional harmony.
