ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has given his approval to several key government bills and official summaries, including major legislative and administrative measures.
Among them is the Islamabad Capital Territory (Prohibition of Plastic Book Covers) Bill 2026, an environmental initiative introduced by Senator Sherry Rehman aimed at reducing plastic waste and promoting eco-friendly alternatives in the capital.
The President also signed off on the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill 2026, marking another step in ongoing legal reforms to update and strengthen the country’s criminal justice framework.
Officials said these approvals reflect the government’s continued focus on environmental protection alongside improvements in the legal and administrative system.
