President, PM express grief over killing of Maulana Idrees Tarangzai

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep sorrow over the killing of prominent religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idrees Tarangzai in a targeted attack in Charsadda.

In his statement, the President extended condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the elevation of the deceased’s spiritual ranks. He strongly condemned the attack, saying such acts of terrorism cannot weaken the nation’s determination to eliminate militancy. He reaffirmed that efforts against terrorist networks will continue without discrimination, with the goal of establishing lasting peace in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed grief over the incident, offering condolences and sympathy to the family of the slain cleric. He prayed for patience and strength for the bereaved and also wished a swift recovery for the police personnel injured in the attack.

Both leaders reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to eradicating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across the country.
