Karachi: Unconfirmed and unofficial results of Local Bodies Elections have received to the Karachi News while ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is leading with 51 seats of chairman and vice-chairman.
As per the results received so far the PTI is on second with 21 seats and Jamat-e-Islami (JI) on third with 19 seats.
The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) assured on Monday that the results of the local government elections in Karachi would be completed by evening after multiple parties alleged that rigging was ongoing to deprive them of their mandate.
The allegations were levelled by Jamat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after hours of delay in results that showed Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in Hyderabad in pole position and was leading in the provincial capital.
