PPP Files Petition Against Deputy Speaker NA Ruling Of Rejecting Voting On No Confidence Motion

Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Nayyar Bukhari on Sunday prepared and filed a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) against Deputy Speaker National Assembly (NA) Qasim Suri over the rejection of the opposition parties no-confidence motion under article 5 (A) of the constitution.

President, Prime Minister , Principle Secretary of PM, Speaker and Deputy Speaker NA, federal cabinet, ministry of law and parliamentary affairs have been made respondents in the petition.

The petition insisted that the deputy speaker NA step is a violation of article of the constitution, 95, 17, 66.

The petitioner demanded to declare the deputy speaker step null and void.

The deputy speaker be ordered to hold voting again on a no confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan, the petition reads further.

The petition added that, the order be given to speaker NA after conducting voting on a no confidence motion, the result of the voting must be announced, the petition urged.
