ROME: Pope Leo XIV welcomed the recent announcement of a ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
As per detail, he said “I hope that, through the upcoming negotiations, a lasting agreement may soon be reached,” he hoped. It is to be noted here that United States (US) President Donald Trump said Saturday that Pakistan and India had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire.
“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a FULL AND IMMEDIATE CEASEFIRE,” Trump had said in an X statement.
“Congratulations to both Countries on using Common Sense and Great Intelligence. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he had added.
The development came after Pakistan launched “Operation Bunyan al-Marsoos”, a powerful military operation that targeted Indian airbases and missile launch sites, in response to the unprovoked aerial and missile strikes on the Pakistani territory.
