Polling In NA-240 By-Election Ends, Counting Starts

Karachi: Polling in NA-240 by-election ended and counting of votes started.

The National Assembly constituency NA-240 by polls is being carried out after the seat lied vacant on passing away of MQM-P leader Iqbal Muhammad Ali while the NA-240 comprising areas of Landhi and Korangi.

The polling on the NA-240 started 8:00 am which continued without any disruption till 5 pm.

The constituency has a population of 8, 53, 973, while as many as 5, 29, 855 people are registered for voting

As many as 309 polling stations have been established out of which 206 are declared highly sensitive while remaining 106 are declare sensitive.

Various parties are contesting the polls and filed their candidates which included former mayor’s Mustafa Kamal Pak Sar Zameen Party (PSP), Muttahida Quami Movement Pakistan (MQM-P), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muhajir Quami Movement-Afaq (MQM), Tehrek-e-Labaik.
