ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the strong growth in remittances from overseas Pakistanis, with inflows reaching $3.6 billion in July.
In a statement, the prime minister said remittances increased by 13% year-on-year during the month, describing the rise as an encouraging development for the national economy.
Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the continued contribution of overseas Pakistanis to Pakistan’s economic stability and development, saying their support remains a vital source of strength for the country.
He said Pakistanis living and working abroad are an important part of the country’s economic mainstream and their contribution is highly valued.
