ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed appreciation for U.S. President Donald Trump following the decision to temporarily pause “Project Freedom” in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on X, the prime minister said he was grateful for what he described as Trump’s “timely and courageous” step, noting that it came in response to requests from Pakistan and other friendly nations, including Saudi Arabia and its leadership, particularly Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
He added that the move could contribute significantly to easing tensions and promoting stability, reconciliation, and peace in the region during a sensitive period.
Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting all initiatives aimed at reducing conflict and encouraging dialogue-based solutions.
He further expressed hope that the current diplomatic momentum would lead to a durable and comprehensive agreement, helping secure long-term peace and stability not only in the region but beyond.
