Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday paid surprise visit to a new Islamabad airport to Peshawar metrobus project wherein the premier was briefed on the project which was delayed for four years.
The PM asked why did the project delay? is there any reason for delay, why did the project take four years? why it was not completed, when will it complete.
The premier also ordered an inquiry over a delay in the project and apprised him after through inquiry. The premier said that as many as Rs 16 billion spent on the project which is belonged to masses.
He directed to complete people interests project as early as possible. He added that there should be arrangements for adjusting goods in the bus.
He further said that there should be a stop of the bus on the motorway while the PM was briefed that initially the metro bus will be run on Saturday.
Spokesperson of PML-N Maryam Aurangzaib apprised that the PM has ordered the CDA to run the metrobus service from Peshawar to Islamabad on April 16.
Besides, he also directed to run the bus service from Baharah Koh, Rawat to Peshawar motorway and also ordered to prepare feasibility of the motorway connection.
She informed that PM Shahbaz Sharif reached at 7 am to review work on Peshawar Mor Metrobus project.
She informed that the project was started in 2017 in Nawaz Sharif era and it had to be completed in 2018
