LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned domestic cricketer Hamza Nazar from all domestic and international cricket for two years and imposed a Rs1 million fine after finding him guilty of providing misleading information during a visa application process.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the PCB said the disciplinary action followed an investigation into details submitted by Hamza Nazar in support of a visa application processed through the Board.
According to the PCB, a three-member inquiry committee was formed to examine the matter. Hamza was given the opportunity to present his explanation and respond to the allegations before the committee completed its investigation.
After assessing his response and reviewing the available evidence, the committee submitted its findings to the PCB, which subsequently approved a two-year suspension along with a financial penalty of Rs1 million.
The Board stated that Hamza failed to provide complete and accurate information, withheld key facts, and submitted misleading details during the visa process.
Reaffirming its commitment to integrity and transparency, the PCB said it maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward misrepresentation and non-disclosure, adding that such actions undermine the standards expected from individuals representing Pakistan cricket.
The Board also stressed that it would take firm action against anyone whose conduct damages the credibility of the PCB, Pakistan cricket, or the trust of its supporters.
