ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Bar Council has demanded the establishment of a Truth Commission on the issue of Saqib Nisar’s audio.
In his statement after the meeting of Pakistan Bar Council, Vice Chairman Pakistan Bar Council Khushdal Khan said that a commission headed by a (R) judge of the Supreme Court should be constituted on the allegations leveled against former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar. Civil society and journalists should also be included in the Truth Commission.
Vice-Chairman Pakistan Bar Council said that the commission should investigate the allegations and bring the truth before the people.
In this regard, the executive body of the lawyers’ representative body across the country has given unanimous opinion on the establishment of Truth Commission as the affidavit of former Chief Justice GB Rana Shamim and the alleged audio of Saqib Nisar are affecting the judicial reputation.
