Pakistani delegation meets representatives of several countries

WEB DESK: Pakistan’s diplomatic delegation met with representatives of China, Russia, and several other countries at the United Nations and presented Pakistan’s stance.

According to sources, representatives from Denmark, Greece, Panama, Somalia, Algeria, Ghana, Japan, South Korea, Sierra Leone, and Slovenia also met with the Pakistani delegation, during which Bilawal Bhutto rejected unfounded Indian accusations in front of select members.

Bilawal stated that baseless allegations against Pakistan without any investigation or evidence are unacceptable. He emphasized that Indian attacks on civilian areas and the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty pose a threat to regional peace. Therefore, the international community should seek a resolution to the conflict before it escalates, in the interest of lasting peace in South Asia.The elected members of the UN Security Council appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.

Fu Cong, China’s envoy, met with the Pakistani diplomatic delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. This meeting took place at the Pakistan Mission in New York, where discussions focused on the evolving security situation in South Asia following recent Indian aggression, and Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support during India’s provocative actions. He briefed the Chinese side on the situation following the Pulwama attack on April 22, 2025, and highlighted Pakistan’s responsible and cautious response to India’s aggressive behavior.

Bilawal expressed regret that India rejected Pakistan’s offer for an impartial, transparent, and independent investigation. He reaffirmed that a resolution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is essential for regional peace, urging China to play an effective role in resolving the issue through multilateral cooperation and dialogue, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Bilawal called on the international community to move beyond mere conflict management and work towards permanent solutions, so that lasting peace can be achieved in South Asia.The delegation also briefed Chinese leadership on provocative actions by India, including unwarranted strikes on Pakistani territory, targeting civilians deliberately, supporting terrorism in Pakistan, and suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. They also described the weaponization of water as a blatant violation of international law.

Both countries agreed that aggressive actions and unilateral decisions threaten regional peace and must be strongly opposed.The parties reaffirmed their commitment to resolving disputes peacefully, promoting multilateral cooperation, adhering to the principles of the UN Charter, respecting treaties, and upholding international laws.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned India’s reckless actions, emphasizing that the unresolved Kashmir dispute and regional peace are at risk.He stated that Pakistan remains committed to ceasefire and regional stability, and that the Kashmir issue should be resolved peacefully under the UN Charter. He also urged the international community to reject the dangerous trend of India’s provocative actions, which are being justified as “normal” behavior.

According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the Pakistani delegation will also visit Washington, London, and Brussels, where they will engage with global institutions, parliamentarians, think tanks, and the media
