ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting peace through dialogue, maintaining active diplomatic engagement with key global and regional partners, including the United States and Iran.
During a weekly press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi emphasized that Pakistan prioritizes negotiation and diplomacy in addressing complex international issues. He noted that the country continues to receive support for its peace initiatives from various allies.
According to Andrabi, Türkiye has consistently backed Pakistan’s efforts, with its president commending the steps taken by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The prime minister also held discussions with European Union leadership, where both sides highlighted the importance of diplomatic solutions.
He further shared that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remains in contact with leaders from Iran and Saudi Arabia. Iran’s leadership appreciated Pakistan’s role in fostering peace, while Pakistan welcomed Tehran’s decision to send a delegation. Andrabi added that Saudi Arabia continues to play a significant role in supporting Pakistan’s economic stability, with the prime minister expressing gratitude to the Saudi Crown Prince.
In addition, the spokesperson confirmed a meeting between the prime minister and the Emir of Qatar, noting that Qatari leadership recognized Pakistan’s efforts to ease regional tensions.
Addressing another matter, Andrabi reiterated Pakistan’s stance that Somaliland is an integral part of Somalia.
