RAWALPINDI: Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry held a joint press conference alongside officers from the Air Force and Navy.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated, “Alhamdulillah, the Pakistan Armed Forces have fulfilled the promise made to the nation. India committed aggression and spilled the blood of innocent Pakistanis. In response to Indian aggression, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyān Mursūs. The armed forces have kept the promise they made to the people. Indian drones violated Pakistan’s airspace. We pay tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in defense of the homeland.”
The DG ISPR added, “The Pakistan Armed Forces made three commitments to the nation: First, that our response would be decisive. Second, that the time, place, and manner of our response would be determined by us. Third, that when we respond, not only Indian media but the global media would take notice. The Pakistan military expresses gratitude to the brave and patriotic people of Pakistan.”
He continued,“On May 6 and 7, Indian aggression led to the martyrdom of innocent civilians, including children and a woman. India targeted civilian areas in Azad Kashmir using heavy weaponry. Our hearts and sympathies are with the families of the martyrs.”
General Chaudhry stated that during Operation Bunyān Mursūs, Pakistan targeted 26 military sites being used against the country. “We struck Uri network station and Poonch radar. We thank Allah Almighty for granting us victory. We also appreciate the Prime Minister and the cabinet for making key decisions in difficult times. Pakistan responded to all locations used for operations against us. We are grateful to the public, armed forces personnel, and political leadership who stood firmly with the state.”
He further revealed that Pakistan targeted 26 Indian military positions from which attacks were carried out on Pakistani civilians. “We struck targets in Suratgarh, Sirsa, Adampur, and Awantipora, and also in Udhampur and Pathankot. At two locations, we successfully struck India’s S-400 missile battery systems. Pakistan exercised restraint while using only a limited part of its advanced technological capabilities—many of which may be deployed in the future.”
He noted that military installations along the Line of Control (LoC) that were attacking innocent civilians in Azad Kashmir were also targeted. “Pakistan responded with skill, patience, and precision. Every place from which Pakistan was attacked was effectively hit in return.”
DG ISPR added that BrahMos missile bases in Beas and Nagrota were also targeted. “The Pakistan Armed Forces also launched comprehensive cyber attacks, successfully crippling Indian military systems. Meanwhile, during the military’s focus on the eastern border, there has been a rise in Indian-sponsored terrorism in KP and Balochistan. Whenever India commits aggression, our response will be comprehensive, powerful, and decisive.”
