Pakistan firmly rejects CBS news report on Iranian aircraft in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan firmly rejects the recent CBS News report concerning Iranian aircraft in Pakistan as misleading, speculative, and lacking factual basis. The report presents an inaccurate interpretation of routine diplomatic and logistical activities carried out in the context of ongoing regional engagement efforts.

During the ceasefire period and the initial phase of the Islamabad dialogue process, aircraft from multiple countries, including Iran and the United States, arrived in Pakistan to support the movement of diplomatic delegations, security personnel, and technical teams associated with these discussions. Some of these assets remained temporarily in place pending further diplomatic interactions.

Although formal rounds of talks have not resumed, diplomatic contacts at senior levels have continued. In this regard, logistical arrangements already established during the ceasefire period facilitated recent official visits, including those of the Iranian Foreign Minister.

Any attempt to portray the Iranian aircraft currently present in Pakistan as connected to military planning, strategic deployment, or contingency preservation is entirely incorrect and irresponsible. Such claims are based on conjecture rather than verified facts.

Pakistan has consistently maintained a neutral, responsible, and constructive role in supporting dialogue, de-escalation, and regional stability. Administrative and logistical assistance provided in this context reflects Pakistan’s continued commitment to facilitating peaceful engagement among concerned parties.

Pakistan remains steadfast in its support for diplomacy, conflict reduction, and all initiatives aimed at ensuring lasting peace, security, and stability in the region and beyond.
