Pakistan condemns missile attacks near Makkah, Madinah

Pakistan has denounced Houthi ballistic missile attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s Makkah and Madinah regions, including locations near the holy sites.

In a statement issued Monday in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the attacks on October 24 were a serious breach of Saudi sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that they showed disregard for the sacred status of Islam’s holiest places and put civilians at risk.

“Pakistan reiterates its unwavering solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its firm commitment to the Makkah Alliance,” the spokesperson said.

Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s security, stability and defence, including safeguarding the Two Holy Mosques from external threats. He also praised Saudi air defence forces for their vigilance and effectiveness in intercepting the missiles.
