Pakistan committed to promote peace in the region, DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that Pakistan, as a responsible nation, advocates for peace in the region.

In an interview with The New York Times, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif mentioned that, India targeted locations including Noor Khan Airbase and others.

He added that, high-ranking military officials from both countries are in contact, and an effective mechanism is in place. Pakistan’s aerial capabilities are fully restored and operational.

The ISPR spokesperson also highlighted that, Pakistan has shown transparency regarding its losses—both human and material. He questioned whether India has demonstrated the same level of honesty.

During the same discussion, The New York Times noted that, following India’s unilateral missile attack on May 7, Pakistan exercised restraint and limited its actions to self-defense. The Pakistan Air Force reportedly shot down six Indian fighter jets in response.
