ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to implement a ceasefire following a request from the Afghan Taliban.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Afghan Taliban regime requested a cessation of hostilities. In response, Pakistan has agreed to a temporary ceasefire starting from 6:00 PM today for the next 48 hours. Sources indicate that the ceasefire has already commenced.
The Foreign Ministry stated that both sides will engage in constructive dialogue to seek a positive resolution to the ongoing issues.
Sources further mentioned that Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Muhammad Sadiq, and potentially Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister will hold talks to facilitate this process.
