Opposition free to move no-confidence motion against PM or Speaker: Ayaz Sadiq

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has said that the opposition has the constitutional and democratic right to move a no-confidence motion against either him or Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad on Tuesday, Sadiq said the government had repeatedly invited the opposition for dialogue but had grown weary of extending the same offer again and again.

He said the government would not obstruct the opposition if it decided to bring a no-confidence motion and would instead facilitate the constitutional process.

“We will not stop anyone from moving a no-confidence motion. If such a motion is brought, we will deal with it accordingly,” the speaker said.
