NSC condemn attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, deeming it violation of international law, United Nations Charter.

ISLAMABAD: National Security Committee held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers and military leadership, to deliberate on the evolving regional situation.

Sources indicate that the committee examined the implications of the U.S. attack on Iran and assessed the potential regional consequences of an Israel-Iran conflict.Key decisions were made to address the escalating tensions and uphold regional stability.The committee’s statement highlighted that the attack on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan constitutes a clear breach of IAEA resolutions, international law, and the UN Charter. It strongly condemned Israel’s acts of aggression and expressed deep concern over the destabilizing impact on regional peace.

Furthermore, the committee expressed regret over Israel’s military actions and underscored the importance of renewed, constructive dialogue between Iran and the United States. It emphasized that such aggressive measures have heightened tensions, increased the risk of a wider conflict, and diminished prospects for diplomacy.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance, the committee stated that Iran possesses the inherent right to self-defense under the United Nations Charter.
It also conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Iranian government and people for the loss of life and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued engagement and close relations with all relevant parties.
