Peshawar: No decision has been taken yet regarding a caretaker set up in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Chief Minister KP Mahmood Khan has not called on the Opposition leader Muhammad Akram Durrani as yet. Moreover, the government and opposition sides have also not given names for committee to appoint caretaker CM KP.
According to our correspondent, it looks that the CM KP has not prepared yet on consultations with the opposition, neither the PTI chief Imran Khan has given him permission to present three names for the committee for appointing the CM.
He added that three names have been surfaced from the opposition as the governor of the KP belongs to JUI-F, it looks that the caretaker CM will come with the choice of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Awami National Party (ANP).
A meeting of opposition leaders were held at the residence of the opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani at late night in which the PPP leader Nighat Orakzai, the ANP leader Sardar Hussain Babat and PML-N leader Sardar Yousuf were in attendance.
ANP has forward name of ex-DG FIA Zafar Ullah Khan and JUI-F has given name of former Supreme Court Judge Dost Muhammad Khan but it is said that his name was just circulating as he is ill these days.
Meanwhile the parliamentary and political sources have apprised that Lt gen (retd) Hamid Khan Durrani, and ex-bureaucrat Afzal Khan are under consideration.
