WEB DESK: Nine civilians were killed and four others injured in a Russian drone attack on a minibus in Ukraine’s northern Sumy region on Saturday.
According to the local military authorities. The incident occurred near the city of Bilopillya as the bus was traveling toward Sumy, and officials confirmed that the vehicle was targeted by Russian forces.
This tragic attack took place just hours after Ukraine and Russia held their first direct peace talks in Istanbul since 2022, marking a significant diplomatic development.
Despite the negotiations, which resulted in a mutual agreement to exchange prisoners, no progress was made toward a ceasefire. Both sides agreed to continue exchanging ideas on a possible truce, but the conflict remains unresolved.
The attack underscores ongoing tensions and the persistent threat of violence in the region, even as diplomatic efforts continue.
