WEB DESK: An announcement has been made about testing a new experimental feature on X (Twitter), which will highlight posts that may be appreciated by users who typically disagree with such content.
The platform will utilize X’s Community Notes platform for this feature. the Community Notes feature is currently used when users label content as misleading or false.the company explained that users participating in Community Notes will see posts on which they will be asked to provide ratings and feedback.
According to X, this feedback will help develop an open-source algorithm capable of identifying posts that might appeal to users with differing viewpoints.
Users involved in testing this new feature will be asked about their likes and dislikes regarding posts. they will be able to select options such as “I learned something interesting” or “I don’t agree with it” while providing feedback.
The company stated in a post that many people feel the world is becoming divided, but Community Notes prove that people can agree on various topics—even if they have opposing views on the content. According to the post, this experimental new feature will assist in bringing new ideas and perspectives to light.
It is worth noting that X’s Community Notes feature was introduced in 2022, following Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform.
