Netanyahu hints at attack on Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei

Tel Aviv: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has hinted at an attack on Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

In an interview with Australian TV, Netanyahu stated that eliminating Khamenei would not escalate the war. He added that the removal of Khamenei would help bring an end to the conflict. When asked by Australian TV whether he intends to assassinate Ayatollah Khamenei, Netanyahu replied that they will do whatever is necessary.

It is worth noting that the previous day, a foreign news agency reported that U.S. President Donald Trump vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. U.S. officials told the news agency that they could not comment on political leadership decisions. Earlier, Israeli officials had suggested that an attack on Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei was not beyond the realm of possibility.
