NEPRA eliminates approval process for solar systems up to 25 KW

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has delegated the power to approve solar installations up to 25 kW directly to distribution companies.

In a recent update to the Solar Regulations 2026, NEPRA announced that solar consumers with systems of 25 kW or less will no longer need to seek approval from NEPRA.

Instead, the respective electricity distribution firms now have the authority to grant immediate approval for these solar setups.
