Islamabad: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday increased electricity prices by Rs 12. 68 under the quarterly adjustment.

As per the notification issued by the NEPRA, it approved fourth quarterly adjustment of K-electric for the year 2021-2022.

As per the notification, the NEPRA had held a public hearing of the K-electric petition on quarterly adjustment. The K-electric in the hearing had insisted to raise the electricity prices by Rs 14.53 for the fourth quarterly adjustment.

The authority after thorough checking of data pronounced verdict under the quarterly adjustment.

Under the old practice the government maintains uniform tariff across the country while difference in tariff is adjusted through a subsidy.
