Met Office predicts rain in southeastern Sindh, hot weather elsewhere

KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly hot and humid conditions across most districts of Sindh on Sunday, with chances of rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms in the province’s southeastern belt.

According to the latest weather outlook, Tharparkar, Islamkot, Umerkot, and nearby areas are expected to receive rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, light drizzle may occur in Karachi, while coastal districts are likely to remain partly cloudy.

The weather department said most areas of Balochistan will continue to experience very hot conditions, although coastal regions are expected to see partly cloudy skies.

The PMD also noted that moisture-laden winds from the Arabian Sea are affecting eastern and central Pakistan, while additional moist currents from the Bay of Bengal are expected to reach the country’s upper regions during the first week of July.

The forecast further indicates rain and thunderstorms are likely in parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan over the coming days.
