LAHORE: Mahnoor Safdar, the youngest daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, married Azan Jabbar, son of businessman Jabbar Khalid, in a private Nikah ceremony at Jati Umra on Saturday.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Sharif family and a small circle of close relatives and invited guests.
Those present included PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and other family members. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb also attended the ceremony.
Videos from the private event later surfaced on social media and quickly gained traction. One video showed Mahnoor dressed as a bride, while another appeared to show Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif driving Nawaz Sharif and other family members to the venue.
The wedding took place shortly after Mahnoor completed her undergraduate studies in Anthropology at SOAS University of London.
Earlier this month, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation, describing the occasion as a proud and joyous moment for the family.
Mahnoor is the youngest of Maryam Nawaz and Captain Muhammad Safdar’s three children. She studied Anthropology at SOAS from 2023 to 2026.
