LHC orders FIR against CCD officials over fake report in Court

Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the District Police Officer (DPO) of Okara to file a First Information Report (FIR) against officials of the Crime Control Department (CCD) after they submitted a falsified report in court, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq presided over the hearing of a case filed by Maqsudan Bibi, who was seeking justice regarding the illegal detention of Gulfam Ali outside the jail premises. The petitioner presented video evidence confirming the location of Gulfam Ali’s arrest.

During the proceedings, the victim’s family submitted all relevant proof in court, including the video footage. The CCD Lahore counsel also submitted a report regarding the case. However, upon reviewing both submissions, Justice Rafiq expressed serious concern, noting that the CCD report did not align with the video evidence.

The judge publicly criticized the CCD’s report and ordered the DPO Okara to register an FIR against the officials responsible for misleading the court. The court also demanded a compliance report from the DPO within two weeks to ensure action is taken.

This case highlights concerns over official misconduct and underscores the court’s commitment to ensuring accountability in legal proceedings.
